Dr Evelyn Chia ensures that you and your baby receive the best of care at every stage. Whatever your situation – whether you’re a first-time mother-to-be, you’re having a normal or a high-risk pregnancy or you’re preparing to welcome more than one, Dr Evelyn Chia is dedicated to making your experience as relaxed, safe and wonderful as possible.

Babies rarely deliver to schedule. Which means occasionally, your antenatal appointments may need to be delayed or rescheduled as Dr Evelyn Chia tends to another patient. In such cases, your patience is much appreciated. Dr Evelyn Chia will endeavor to inform you as early as possible of holidays – and you can rest assured you’ll be well cared for should she be unavailable for any reason.

And since no baby or mother is the same, your consultations will be tailored to suit your needs, so you have the time to ask all the questions you need.

Consultations

What to expect

Your first consultation will usually occur between eight and 10 weeks. After that, Dr Evelyn Chia will arrange to see you every four weeks until around week 28. At this point, you’ll come every fortnight and in the final four-week stretch, weekly. Should there be any issues at any point, Dr Evelyn Chia will increase the frequency of your appointments, and if necessary, arrange for you to be admitted to hospital.

As you approach your third trimester, Dr Evelyn Chia will help you prepare for birth. She’ll talk you through what happens during labour, help you formulate a birth plan and talk to you about your preferences for pain relief. She’ll also discuss what may happen in the event of an emergency. Dr Evelyn Chia’s goal is to give you everything you need to make it a positive and stress-free experience.

Every time you come, Dr Evelyn Chia will use a high-resolution 3D/4D ultrasound to scan your pregnancy. Beyond its value as a diagnostic tool, the scan is a marvellous chance to see your baby grow and develop inside the womb.
